The Story of "Jude the Obscure"

We live in the far West of the Phoenix Metro Valley in an area that has been growing roses commercially for decades. It's so wonderful to drive past an expansive field of roses.  My husband is a gardener and avid fan of roses.  Currently he had about 50 different varieties in our yard.  I have vases of roses in my home most of the year.  So of course I'm inspired to paint them!

"Jude the Obscure" is one of my favorite roses.  Depending on the time of year, it displays vivid colors of peach and pink. Or it can be subtle and pale, almost white. It always smells divine.
