The world is in desperate need of peace and beauty.

My passion is to create striking encounters of beauty that ignite wonder, awaken imagination and creative thinking.

Instead of dispensing angst and darkness,
I create art as a catalyst of hope.

I've been an artist since I was a child.  The daughter of an Air Force pilot, I grew up in Europe and was influenced by cultures rich in all forms of public art; from the historical masters to modern abstract and even the brilliant chalk art enjoyed in public squares.

In college, I was very fortunate to study design and composition under Chris Magadini, internationally acclaimed illustrator.  More recently I've studied oil pastels with Paul VerBerg and acrylics with Jed Dorsey. Early on I enjoyed a career as a graphic artist and illustrator.  I later thrived at the Arizona Legislature as an executive assistant to state representatives and senators.

My love of nature and keen curiosity for the bio-mechanics of living things gives me a distinctive voice in my art.  I explore my world by painting on the edge of what’s visible, drawing on ideas from my biochemical studies and adding my intuitive  imagination. My passion is to create dramatic visual experiences of vibrant color, contrast and depth that reflect my amazement with life.

Being born with a rare disease that has (at times) caused life to be quite a challenge for me. I truly appreciate the healing power of beautiful art.  Bringing beauty and hope through my art is my deep desire.

As a juried member of the Arizona Artists Guild, a member of Artlink and the West Valley Arts Council, I value engaging with other artists in my community, as well as enjoying international recognition (in Europe - of all places).

I enjoy my grandchildren, gardening, flamenco music, kayaking and exploring the deserts and forests of Arizona with my childhood sweetheart and husband, John.
