The Story of "Deeper"

"Deeper" was created after a long, emotionally difficult season in my life; during my Mom's battle with cancer.

In those early days of grief, I had such a deep sense of loss that seemed to me to be too overwhelming to even face. One day, during a time of quietness, I was inspired to create this painting which captured my feelings of painful loss and a darkness that seemed so deep.  But as I painted, I was surprised at the beautiful glow that emerged from the water.  The words "the really good water runs deep" went through my mind. I immediately felt a hope rise in my soul, that continued to bring me back into the joys of life.
